Mountain Fresh Festival – Alpine Food and Wine with Altitude -July
Awaken your senses with a six day winter festival of delicious regional food and exciting cool climate wines from the spectacular Alpine Valleys. The village-like atmosphere of both Dinner Plain and Mount Hotham will provide the perfect setting for this celebration of Alpine wine and food with altitude. A diverse program of individual events will be held at venues across two locations that will strongly feature wine and food from the Alpine Valleys Wine Region.
Altitude 5000 Dinner Plain Sled Dog Challenge-Second Weekend August
Dinner Plain is proud to host the Sled Dog race in the snow every second weekend in August. With most of the alpine resorts being Crown Land in the midst of the National Park, Dinner Plain is freehold ownership provides a unique location for this annual event. Approximately ninety teams from all over Australia, incorporating over three hundred dogs of all sizes and descriptions, such as Malamutes and Samoyeds, are expected to compete on a specially designed ten kilometre track around the village. It is a wonderful spectator event as the dogs frolic in the snow before being harnessed up for their dash around the course.

Three days of music and indulgence, on stage, in the middle of nowhere, with the luxury of everything. Join us at Mount Hotham for a feast of music, food and wine and a celebration of the rich culture and history of Dinner Plain and Mount Hotham.
Dinner Plain Festival of Cycling-March Labour Day Weekend
Come and experience the thrill and challenge of riding the Great Alpine Road. During the three day festival, you will learn how to tackle alpine riding, coaching session, gain useful tips at the mechanical workshops and push your limits on the Hotham Challenge Ride.
Easter
The Easter Bunny really delivers at Dinner Plain on Easter Weekend. Enjoy the thrill and skill at the Omeo Rodeo and the Swifts Creek Races on the Easter Saturday. Join us for the Easter Egg Hunt at Dinner Plain and the Annual Geebung Polo Match held at Cobungra Station. Geebung vs. Cuff”n’Collar Polo Match. Come and cheer on your team as the country Geebung Team take on the ‘city slickers’ of the Cuff’n’Collar Team. The polo match is an entertaining re-enactment of AB Patterson’s famous poem, ‘The Geebung Polo Club’, whereby the high country cattlemen play against the city slickers. The day also has the giant Easter egg drop from a helicopter, live band, fashions on the field, giant tug-of-war, foot races, frozen chook throwing competition. A day filled with lots to see and do.
